The crowd waited in a line outside in the cold to get in and starting cheering and chanting with two hours to go before game time. Needless to say, this is Robert Morris' Super Bowl.
Kentucky trails Robert Morris 28-27 at the half.
Archie Goodwin led the way for UK with eight points.
We all wondered how the Cats would respond after being sent to that 'other' tournament, and from the get-go it wasn't good.
Robert Morris jumped out to a 10-0 lead. The Cats were careless with the ball and committed several unforced errors.
The Colonials also got a big boost from hot shooting. This is their big game and when they get a shot, they're going to hit it.
As abysmal as the start was for Kentucky, Archie Goodwin scored eight straight points, six from the free throw line, to tie the game at 24 all with three minutes to play. Once the Cats settled down, and Robert Morris cooled off, this was actually a ball game.
Neither John Calipari nor RMU coach Andy Toole were very pleased with the officiating. At one point, Toole grabbed the microphone and asked students not to throw anything on the court.
