When he was officially introduced as head coach, Mark Stoops made a simple request of Kentucky fans: to fill Commonwealth Stadium on fall Saturdays. Four months into his tenure, he is adding another game day in another stadium to the list.
On Saturday, Aug. 31, the Wildcats will play the first game of the Stoops era, taking on Western Kentucky University in Nashville, Tenn. UK has announced that tickets for the game - to be played at LP Field, home of the NFL Tennessee Titans - have gone on sale.
Ticket prices in the official UK sections are $63 for club level, $43 for lower level sideline and $38 for lower level end zone. General public tickets may be ordered online or by calling (800) 928-2287. Football season ticket holders can purchase tickets online through My UK Account, by calling (800) 928-2287, or by completing the away game ticket application. All seats will be assigned in July, based on priority rank.
To get the best seat locations, Wildcat fans are encouraged to order tickets through the UK Ticket Office.
After a memorable official introduction, arguably the best Signing Day in program history, and a huge ticket surge for upcoming spring game, the season opener will be the first chance for fans to express the excitement Stoops has infused into UK football in a game that counts. Accordingly, Stoops is asking for a large and boisterous UK presence.
"We need the Big Blue Nation to come out in force at LP Field," Stoops said. "We're looking forward to the season opener and having the Wildcat fans behind us. Let's give our team home-field advantage in Nashville."
