The District 6 Office say it has been monitoring the latest weather forecast for Friday as Mother Nature's Valentine is coming sometime between noon and 1 p.m. continuing into the evening. The intense part of the snow storm looks to hit the northern Kentucky area during the evening rush hour with some weather outlets forecasting 2-5 inches of snow.
District 6 snowfighters say state crews are ready, and contractors will be reporting in at noon.
District 6 currently has 13,000 tons of salt, officials said. D6 Crews will be mobilized before the storm. Crews have been instructed to plow first and salt as needed to help maximize salt usage.
With the advance warning of this forecast, District 6 officials say drivers should try to get to their destinations early; the less traffic on the road during a snow storm, the easier it is for crews to treat interstates and state highways.
