Two men were hospitalized Saturday morning when the tractor trailer they were riding in overturned on I-64.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes just after 4:00 in Rowan County. The contents of the truck, including boxes and glass, spilled all over the interstate. The backup caused big problems for drivers headed to Morehead State University's commencement ceremonies.
"We cut to the Sharkey exit on I-64, traffic was being detoured off there. Normally that's not a big deal but its graduation day so we found a little side road that was off 801 and came out again on US 60, but it still took about 45 minutes to an hour," says Pam Farmer, whose daughter was graduating from MSU.
The truck driver in the accident was taken to UK Hospital. It took until about 1:00 in the afternoon for the mess on the interstate to get all cleaned up.
