Video Shows Man Breaking Into Georgetown Storage Units

Police say a Tennessee man out of prison for just a few months stole trailers and other items valued in the thousands of dollars from Georgetown storage units.

Jack Roberts pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on theft and burglary charges, but Georgetown police say surveillance video shows him breaking into units at Oxford Drive Storage. Police say Roberts stole a safe and two travel trailers. Officers located another box trailer in Tennessee.

"From the looks of the video, he had this well planned. He had bolt cutters and even took his time going down with a flash light deciding on which one he would hit," Georgetown Police Department Capt. Robert Swanigan said.

Investigators say Roberts' teenage daughter was in the passenger seat of his car and apparently tried to talk him out of the theft.

Georgetown police ask anybody missing items from area storage units to call them at 502-863-7826 as they continue the investigation.
