DANVILLE (AP) - A free festival to be held the day of the vice presidential debate in Danville is expected to have a focus on Medicare and Social Security.

The Advocate-Messenger reports the AARP is a major sponsor of the festival to be held on the Centre College campus the day of the debate Oct. 11.

The debate festival will also include appearances by the Marshall Tucker Band, Kentucky singer-songwriter Ben Sollee, country-pop duo Aly'An, The Kentucky Ensemble and the Danville Children's Choir.

The AARP has been on the road doing similar education drives since the Iowa Straw Poll last year and also will have a presence at the other debate sites.
