Police have identified two people shot and killed in Washington County early Monday morning.
Police say dispatch received a call around 10:15 p.m. Sunday reporting a man threatening suicide at a residence on Brush Grove Road, about 12 miles north of Springfield. About 15 minutes later, as police were en route, a second call came in reporting a shooting inside the home, and that two people escaped to a neighbor's house.
KSP Special Response Team officers made entry into the home around 3:30 a.m. Inside, they found William Woodford, 52, and his mother-in-law, Phyllis Tarter, 58, both shot dead.
Debbie Woodford and her 17-year-old stepson fled the house and were not hurt.
Police say they are investigating the possibility of a murder suicide.
Officials say autopsies are scheduled for later Monday.
