What is 517?
It's what's on a T-shirt that every member of the UK football team got in preparation for the Tennessee game on Saturday. So we tried to figure out what it meant.
We asked Randall Cobb.
"It's an area code," Cobb said with a smile. Joker Phillips said the same thing.
"I can't comment on that," said cornerback Anthony Mosley. He said the Cats had been sworn to secrecy.
One more try.
"It's just a little motivation for our team and we're keeping it within our team organization, so I can't let the cat out of the bag," said offensive tackle Brad Durham.
So what is it?
Well, LEX 18 sports did a little research. If you look at every game Kentucky and Tennessee have played since the streak started in 1985 and add up the number of points the Vols beat Kentucky by, guess what you get?
517.
Tennessee has outscored UK by 517 points since 1985 and that motivation is to make sure the Vols don't outscore the Cats again on Saturday.
