Asking questions and being investigated can be two different things.
A source tells LEX 18 that the University of Kentucky knows of no investigation going on by the NCAA.
TMZ.com is reporting, "Kentucky Basketball Players Subject of NCAA Probe." According to their source who was interviewed by an NCAA Investigator, TMZ.com says that the NCAA is interested in at least four players, two current and two who were just drafted by the NBA.
In the case of one former Wildcat, TMZ.com says the NCAA wants to know about his relationship with his current agent. They are also reporting that the investigator asked about multiple meetings the agent allegedly had with the player going back to the player's senior year in high school.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out TMZ is talking about John Wall and his former AAU coach Brian Clifton who is now part of Wall's team now that he's moved on to the NBA.
The other player is obviously Eric Bledsoe whose high school grades are being looked at by a law firm in Birmingham.
As far as current players, one has to be Enes Kanter who played on a professional team in Turkey. The fourth player, a current Cat, is the unknown.
The NCAA doesn't comment on what they are or are not doing until whatever they might or might not be doing is done.
But, just because the NCAA might be asking questions doesn't have to mean anything. They ask questions about a lot of players and end up doing nothing.
