A man injured in a Whitley County assault died Wednesday, and police have upgraded the suspect's charge to murder.

Police say Samuel Plotnick, 35, of Williamsburg, attacked Jimmie Peace, 55, in his home last month.

According to the Fayette County coroner, Peace was initially treated at Baptist Regional Medical Center and release, but he later developed complications. He was taken to UK Hospital where he died Wednesday. The coroner says Peace died from complications of multiple blunt force trauma.

Plotnick now faces a murder charge.
