Whitley County Officials Investigate Residential Fire

The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is investigating a residential fire that broke out Thursday night.

The fire broke out at about 7 p.m. at a home owned by George Davis, 75, on Cool Camp Road in Williamsburg. The fire had been called in by a neighbor, John Anderson, and Davis was inside the residence at the time of the fire and was removed by Emlyn Vol. Firefighters Buddy Ward, Henry Woster and Matt Witt.

Davis was removed and taken to Baptist Regional Hospital by Whitley County EMS.

The scene is being investigated by Kentucky State Police Investigator Josh Bunch to determine the cause of the fire.
