Officials in Whitley County are searching for two inmates who escaped from the detention center Friday night.
The inmates, Justin R. Cornett and James Fields, escaped at about 6:15 p.m. Officials say they were on some sort of work release, but were still wearing their orange jump suits.
Fields 42, is described as a white male, 6-foot tall and 180 pounds. He has blue eyes, is bald, and has scar marks and tattoos on back of head, back, and arms. He was being held on felony charges of terrorist threatening, being a fugitive from another state, theft of identity and a rape conviction in Tennessee.
Cornett, 24, is described as a white male, 5'9" tall, 150 pounds. He has hazel eyes, no scars or tattoos. He was being held for first-degree burglary, resisting arrest and a drug violation.
Officials say both should be considered dangerous. They don't believe either is armed.
