The Winter Storm Warnings have been expanded by a few counties to the northwest and now include Floyd, Knott, Perry and Leslie in addition to the Virginia border counties.
Our snowfall forecast has been updated to include a 5-9 inch band along the Virginia border. A 3-6 inch band is setting up roughly between the Hal Rogers Parkway to Pine Mountain (roughly). A 1 to 3 inch band will then extend northwest of that with a sharp cutoff.
Travel will be exceptionally difficult or impossible near the Virginia border and very difficult over most of southeast Kentucky tonight and tomorrow morning.
We'll continue to track this developing system.
