The Winter Storm Watch has been dropped. A Winter Weather Advisory (light teal/blue) has been issued for our entire viewing area. This will go into effect from west to east beginning late Sunday afternoon and eventually beginning tomorrow night. It will run through early Monday when the snow and dangerous travel conditions comes to an end.
Here's an updated to the forecast for the next couple of days:
Sunday early morning- a light wintry mix possible of some rain, freezing rain, and sleet/snow. Little to no accretion of ice during this time. Still be cautious if you're driving on bridges, overpasses and watch out for slick spots.
Sunday during the day- Temperatures will warm into the low 40s across the area and everything will change over to rain during the duration of the late morning and early afternoon.
Sunday Evening- A Changeover from Rain to a rain/snow mix to snow will move from east to west across our area as the front passes through and temperatures drop.
Sunday Night- Snow showers. Some better bursts of snow will be possible.
Monday- Frigid cold with some lingering snow showers possible.
Monday Night- Dangerously cold with temperatures in the negative single digits.
SNOW ACCUMULATION POTENTIAL: 1-3" with some heavier bursts of snow easily putting some in the 4" range.
