The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for a wintry mix of freezing rain and rain in the Bluegrass region, including Fayette and surrounding counties.
The advisory goes into effect Saturday morning at 1 a.m. And will run until 11 a.m. Saturday.
The counties in the advisory area are Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Harrison, Henry, Jefferson, Nicholas, Scott, Shelby, ad Woodford.
Precipitation is expected to develop Friday evening across the advisory area. The initial precipitation may start off as a mix of rain and freezing rain before changing over to plain rain for several hours. Late Friday night, cold air is forecast to rush back into the region and precipitation is likely to change the rain back over to freezing rain before the precipitation ends Saturday morning.
