Lexington police continue the search for a mother who allegedly attacked her own daughter with a knife early Wednesday morning.

Police say they got called to a home along Old Paris Road around 12:30 a.m. When officers arrived, the victim told them her mother came at her with a knife during an argument. Investigators say the woman suffered only a scrape on her arm.

Police say the victim's mother took off and was last seen in a black, 2-door Chevy Blazer. According to police, the mother will face an assault charge when found.
