BARDSTOWN (AP) - A former University of Kentucky football player has been hospitalized in serious condition after a car struck his motorcycle.
T.C. Drake, a tight end for the Wildcats from 2006 through 2009, remained in University of Louisville hospital on Monday.
An accident report says Drake, a Bardstown native, was thrown from the motorcycle at about 9 p.m. Sunday when a car made a left turn in front of him on U.S. 62 in Nelson County, WLKY-TV in Louisville reported. Police say Drake was not wearing a helmet.
Police said 35-year-old Jennifer Reed has been charged with first-degree assault, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Drake, a walk-on at Kentucky, had a total of 20 catches for 281 yards in his career with the Wildcats.
