Police in Montgomery County have arrested a woman who they say left her infant in a car while she was trying to avoid police after being pulled over.
Sarah Palmer, 29, is charged with careless driving, endangering welfare of minor, no registration plates, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and DUI.
State police say a trooper tried to flag down Palmer on Highway 460 between Camargo and Jeffersonville because the car was all over the road.
Police say when she saw the trooper's vehicle, Palmer went into a Family Dollar store to hide from the trooper, but left her infant in the car.
Police say they believe the DUI is drug-related since there is no information on blood alcohol content.
