Police in Knox County arrested a woman and charged her with murder after an early morning shooting.

Police responded to a home along J Goodin Branch Road in Barbourville around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after reports that a man was shot. Police say the owner of the home suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested Charlene Sue King, 49, and charged her with murder. Investigators say she served as the victim's caregiver.

Officials have not released the victim's name.
