A woman and a two-year-old girl were taken to the hospital with what were described as minor injuries after a car crashed into a creek in Bourbon County Monday morning.

The accident happened about 9:15 a.m. at Hankson Creek right at the border of Nicholas County. Officials say the woman, whose name has not been released, fell asleep and drove into the creek.

There is no word on the exact injuries the woman and child sustained.
