A woman died after a crash in Lincoln County Tuesday morning.

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office deputies say Bertha Vanhook, 86, lost control of her vehicle along KY-501, went off the road and slammed into a concrete culvert. EMS took her to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, and she was later airlifted to UK Hospital.

Vanhook died in surgery Tuesday afternoon.
