A highway in southeastern Kentucky was closed Wednesday afternoon following a fatal accident involving a pickup truck and a commercial truck.

The accident happened at about noon on Kentucky 15 just south of Jackson. State police say a Breathitt County woman was going north bound in her truck when she crossed the center line and hit a commercial truck, which tried to swerve and miss her, head-on.

The woman in the pickup truck, identified as Vanessa Combs, 26, died on impact of blunt force trauma injuries. The road will remain closed while police reconstruct the accident.
