A woman died in a violent crash in Laurel County Tuesday night.

Officials say two cars collided along HWY-363, just outside of London, near Proffitt's Grocery.

The coroner identified the woman killed as 61-year-old Tommie Johnson. She died at the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
