A Lee County man is in serious condition at UK Hospital after an accident at a Whitley County construction site Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at about 9 a.m. in Williamsburg at the site of a new Hampton Inn being built just off of I-75. Officials say Timothy Brown, 53, of Beattyville was knocked unconscious after a concrete slab being moved by a forklift suddenly shifted and flipped up, hitting Brown in the face.
Rescue workers at first feared Brown might have spinal injuries, but police say he eventually regained consciousness before he was taken to the hospital.
The company building the hotel, Worley Enterprises, said Brown received some stitches, but is expected recover.
