A portion of the Bluegrass Parkway in Woodford County was shut down for hours Saturday, following a fatal accident that leaves a young boy without his mother.
The deadly crash happened at the Huntertown Road Overpass, killing the driver 31-year-old, Jessica Snipp.
Versailles Police say Snipp was headed east on the parkway around 11:30, when for some reason, her car went off the road.
When she over-corrected, officers say she lost control, causing her vehicle to cross the median and the westbound lanes slamming into the bridge.
Snipp was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family tells LEX 18 Jessica was a loving mother of a young boy and was always there to help anyone who needed it.
Now, the family is just trying to come to terms with the loss and the fact that Jessica's son will have to grow up without his mother.
"Since I heard about it, I've just been a nervous wreck. A nervous wreck. I'm just so sad. She had her whole life ahead of her, her whole life," says Mary Snipp, Jessica's grandmother-in-law.
Versailles Police say that investigation continues to figure out what caused Snipp to lose control of her car.
