Behind the shield there are thousands of volunteers and donors who give generously of their money, time, and resources so that The Salvation Army can make a difference in the lives of people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If you have supported our work, we say, thank you! If you have never volunteered or donated to The Salvation Army we ask you to consider doing so. We need you. Together we can change lives.
Food Angel
(Holiday Food Drive) This year LEX18, Kroger, and The Salvation Army are making it more convenient than ever to help families in need throughout our viewing area (Fayette, Boyle, Clark, Franklin, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Powell, Rowan, Scott, Woodford) have a warm meal this holiday. Beginning Thursday, November 22nd through Christmas Eve, when you pick up a Food Angel from The Salvation Army Angel Tree at any participating Kroger, a tax deductible donation of $25 will be added to your grocery bill which will be used to feed a needy family. When you donate at your neighborhood Kroger, that money will stay in your community.
The Angel Tree
You can put a smile on a child's face this Christmas. Purchase a gift(s) for a child in need. Angel Tree cards will be on display November 16th to December 9th, at the Fayette Mall (near Dillard's), Whitaker Banks (Lexington & Georgetown), Glenn Nissan, and Hyundai of Nicholasville. Simply select a child's card. Using the information on the card as a guide, purchase a new gift(s). Return the UNWRAPPED gift and card to the Salvation Army Christmas Center at 1030 South Broadway, Lexington, the Fayette Mall or to Whitaker Bank (Lexington or Georgetown)by December 9th.
