The Kentucky Select Chevy Dealers capped off another great year of the Drive 4 Perfection program with a tremendous evening. Most importantly over $70,000 was raised for the 31 participating high schools throug the program this year! There were over 900 students who achieved 98% or better attendance this year!

The Chevy Drive for Perfection program is designed for Kentucky Select Chevy Dealers to forge relationships with high school seniors, parents, teachers, PTA's and school districts. Chevy Drive for Perfection targets high school seniors and provides additional incentive for seniors to finish their high school careers strong in order to adequately prepare for post-secondary education and/or the workforce.

High school seniors are informed of the Chevy Drive for Perfection program at the beginning of the school year. Seniors have a chance to win a brand new 2013 Chevy Cruze or 2013 Chevy Sonic at the end of the school year if they have 98% or better attendance with NO unexcused absences.

The 2013 Chevrolet Sonic is all-new

Buyers will be able to choose between a sedan or four-door hatchback body style as well as two different four-cylinder engines that drive the front wheels. The base 1.8-liter will produce 135 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque, while a 1.4-liter turbocharged alternative will make 138 hp and 148 lb-ft. A five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission will be offered for the 1.8-liter engines, but the 1.4 turbo will only be available with a six-speed manual. Fuel economy numbers, unfortunately, weren't available at the time of this writing.

Power output puts the Sonic on top of the competition and its handling also has class-leading potential since the suspension has been tuned by the same engineers who worked their magic on the Corvette. Styling is likely to be a hit as well, with the hatchback getting an aggressive edge over the more sedate sedan. Inside, the cockpit is modern and fresh, with the large tachometer and offset digital readout attracting most of the attention.

Chevrolet is also quick to point out that the Sonic sedan is the most capacious in this class and the rear seats are roomier than the Ford Fiesta's. Options will likely include heated front seats, remote ignition and a sunroof.

EXPLANATION OF CONTEST RULES

1. The LEX 18/KY Select Chevy Dealers Ipad Giveaway is a contest sponsored by WLEX-TV ("LEX 18") and Kentucky Chevrolet Dealers (hereinafter "Sponsors") and subject to these Official Contest Rules.

2. No purchase is necessary. To enter the Contest, contestants can register on www.lex18.com and KY Select Chevy Dealer Facebook page. The contest will begin on 10/1/11 and end on 12/22/11.

3. There will be 12 winners. A winner will be selected each week of the contest. Each winner will receive an Apple Ipad. The estimated value of each prize is $650. WLEX will contact the winners. The winners will pick up the Ipad at their closest KY Select Chevy Dealer.

CONDITIONS

1. Contestants must be at least sixteen (16) years old, have a valid driver's license and must be a resident of the United States to participate. Contestants must have a photo ID (driver's license or school ID).

2. Illegible or incomplete entry forms will be discarded.

3. The winners will be notified by telephone by LEX 18. Winner may call LEX 18 to claim the prize if they learn their name has been drawn as set out in paragraph 3 above. Neither LEX 18 nor Sponsors shall have any responsibility for failure to claim any prize based on mechanical or printing errors, or allegations of telephone difficulties.

4. As a condition to being eligible to enter the Contest, or to receive any prize, all Contestants are by their entries submitted, subject to the terms of these Official Contest Rules as well as the statements contained in the entry form itself. As a condition to being awarded the grand prize, the winners must execute a written release of LEX 18 and Sponsors from any and all liability arising out of participation in the Contest and receipt and use of the prizes. 5. All federal, state and local taxes, if any, levied on the receipt of the prizes shall be the sole responsibility of the winners. The prizes are not transferable to third parties nor can they be resold, exchanged, or redeemable for cash.

6. All decisions of LEX 18 and Sponsors are final.

7. Determination of the eligibility and acceptability of all entries, Contestants and winner(s) are in the sole discretion of LEX 18 and the Sponsors and are final.

8. Winners must show proof of identification, including social security number, and sign an affidavit of eligibility and release.

9. Contestants are subject to and will follow, adhere to and obey the instructions and rules contained in these Official Contest Rules, and such other rules and regulations as may be established from time to time by LEX 18 and the Sponsors. LEX 18 and Sponsors reserve the right to change the rules and/or discontinue this contest at any time without prior notice.

10. No Contestant and no member of the Contestant's immediate family (spouse, ex-spouse, parents, siblings, children) or household members (whether related or not) shall be employees, officers, directors, representatives or agents of LEX 18, Sponsors or of any other contractor or sponsor associated with this contest.

11. All Contestants shall abide by, follow and adhere to the decency rules established by the FCC and by LEX 18 and the Sponsors and shall not have been convicted of a felony of any kind.

12. Contestants are not, nor shall he or she for any purposes be considered, an employee of LEX 18 or Sponsors, nor have any such opportunities been offered or promised to the Contestant, and participation in the Contest shall not be construed in any manner to constitute any offer of any such opportunities. The Contestants are not eligible for any benefits of any kind from LEX 18 or Sponsors of any nature whatsoever by virtue of his or her participation in the Contest.
