True Blue Top Story

  • Will Daniel Orton Leave ?

There have been rumors picking up over the last week that Daniel Orton, even though he doesn't start, might be leaving after the season.

No one even asked Cal, but he gave it up.

Cal's way of doing business is, if it could happen, he likes to, if he can, get on top of it.

Cal told a good story about Orton going back to the days when he was recruited by Billy Gillispie.

You could also take this as a shot against Billy G. And, Cal comes right out and puts a rumo...   read the rest of the story

TRUE BLUE RANTS & RAVES

In response to the governor of indiana's comment.  If our beloved WILDCATS are fortunate enough to make it to Indianapolis; Everyone make a concentrated effort not to add to the economic well being of THAT state.  ie... fill up before you cross the boarder, pack coolers, eat out as little as possible, only buy memorabilia from Kentucky vendors... Just keep in mind the city of Nashville made some 12 million dollars on the SEC tourny. How much do you think the BIG BLUE NATION contributed? A LOT!!! Just keep it in mind. GO CATS!!!!  We love you Patrick Patterson!

I just saw on ESPN 2 they were anouncing the schedule Thursday night's showcase for this weeks games. When they listed UK they called UK, "BLUEGRASS BULLIES"    WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? We have a good team & we've had a tough wasy to go. Especially Cousins. Everybody beats him to death under the basket. Just because he's tough & big doesn't mean he likes to get beat on. Talk about bullies what about Mississippi State. They were rough. The team acted as bad as their fans. What's up with fans harrassing players anyway!!!! Then talk aboout bullies Vandy played dirty & like bullies. I think we have a good bunch of guys
I'm proud of our team. I think we have a great coach, players, team & program this year. I have enjoyed everygame this year. I'm upset with ESPN. That comment was uncalled for. I can't imagine a comment like that unless there is an actual team named that, and I've never heard of ESPN showing their game.  We have a classy coach & program. ESPN if you were calling the University of KY, "Bluegrass Bullies"  SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Yes, UK Fans out there, our old coach is seemingly under some kind of pressure to win according to the article above.  Note, that the writer of this article for the local Minneapolis rag there, is the very same writer that 3 years ago was blasting Kentucky Fans for running Tubby out of Kentucky.  Wishy-Washy journalism at its very best.  We must have the same Journalists down here...Heck, they must be everywhere.
Tubby has had a good first 2 year honeymoon with Gopher-ville and their fanbase.  He has had 2 appearances in the NCAA Tourney as a result of those 2 good years, too.  But, like down here at Kentucky, the honeymoon slowly fades into the doldrums.  Tubby is a good coach and is more well suited at this stage in his career for the Gopher program.  He doesn't need to be in the constant limelight and under constant scrutiny like he was down here at UK.  But, in turn, in today's world of instant gratification and entitlementality; it is what have you done for me lately.  It took 10 years of Tubby for the UK fanbase to grow restless and vocal.  It took the Minnesota fanbase only 3 years to start grumbling.  When they rarely had any glimpses of having winning seasons before Tubby.  Tubby will give you guys a decent chance at post season tourneys. Just be happy that he still wants to coach up there for you guys.  For all of you all that would like to read the Minneapolis' Article on Tubby, the link is below:

I just wanted to tell all of our players how proud I am of them for choosing to wear Kentucky Blue. They all have worn the uniforms while giving everyone in the Big Blue Nation a reason to cheer. These are mostly teenagers. They have come together under the leadership of Coach Cal. They have bought into the team concept. Look where it has gotten them! I am extremely proud to be a Wildcat Fan for life, whether it's an up year, down year, or anywhere in between.
My husband and I would give anything to be able to attend a game in Rupp. We have to settle to watch on televison but we still cheer for our beloved coach and players. GO BIG BLUE!

I must say in the 25 + years that I have been a Big Blue Fan, this is the most pround that i have ever been of our coach's and players and the most ashamed of our fans!!! Come on Wildcats fans, it's one loss, it happens! these young men have and will continue to give The Big Blue Nation their all. so to all you fair weathered fans, Back Off! Leave our guys alone and let them show the country why we are the best!!! GO BIG BLUE! Thank you Coach Cal, you are just what we needed!

On the Facebook issue, all the disrepected comments that were posted on P.Pat's site shows nothing but pure ignorance and lack of class. For those who posted rude comments,I say to you, watch and learn from Patterson, then maybe you can obtain some class that you're so shamefully in need of. He represent's UK with the upmost class that anyone has ever graced either at Rupp or Commonwealth Stadium. As far as the rest of the players, they are a close second. So,take your comments and carve them into a tree or make mudpies out of them because your words not only shows ignorance,it proves that you don't have a clue of what "bleeding blue" really means. Love the Cat's through their trials as well as their successions. GO BIG BLUE!! Love ya P.Pat and the rest of Cal's Kids!!!

I totally agree with with the latest comment! I enjoy watching my Wildcats play like a team should play! Yeah there are mistakes made, but what fun it is to watch the team come together. I really enjoy Demarcus, he is a force to be reckoned with & he has such humor. He is his own person. As for Patrick, he is a very humble person. I commend him for being a true blue player. He has been through a lot for the wildcat fans, but he has stayed true to himself. All these young men have proven to be more mature at such a young age. They have shown more maturity than a lot of the so called fans have shown! Go CATS!

All you Big Blue Fans out there that are criticizing Patterson's lackluster performances of late...STOP!  Those Fans that are getting on the players Facebook pages and hammering on them...STOP!  Think about what you all are doing and showing these young kids "our true colors" of we'll turn on you if you lose just one game.  This team is 19-1 and that is a monumentous Fact and they did it with mostly Freshmen in the line up.  Just take a look at this team and then take a step back and realize how young these kids really are...18-19 year olds and they reached the number one spot in the country playing for our beloved UK.  Look at where we were just one year ago.  How quickly we forget.  We were an NIT team!!!  Now, we are the number one team in the freaking nation people.  Give these kids a break!  Do not question their hearts.  Do not question their desires.  They have played above and beyond what anyone has expected them to play.  They bleed Blue and by you fans out there that are criticizing them harshly, you obviously are blind to this...open your eyes and see these young men are doing all they can for us to enjoy.  Why can we not just sit back and support this team and enjoy the ride along with them?  Come on Big Blue Nation!  Support the team and the players like we should be doing.  We are KENTUCKY, WE are KENTUCKY!!!  Let's go out there and put a whooping on Vandy and show the world why we are number one!!!  Go Big Blue!!!
