Sports Reporter/Weekend Anchor Brent Carney
Brent joined WLEX 18 in November, 2008. Previously he worked in the Tri-Cities, TN/VA area in the converged newsroom of WJHL-TV and the Bristol Herald Courier newspaper. During his time in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia he covered sports and news on air for WJHL and in print and online for the Herald Courier.
Brent studied English and Communication at Saint Louis University and is a proud Billiken (the mascot for SLU). He is a native of Nashville but was forbidden to cheer for the University of Tennessee growing up by his mother, a proud University of Kentucky graduate.
A self proclaimed "washed up former high school athlete," Brent enjoys playing basketball or golf in his spare time. Brent is also a diehard Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
