Three Puppies Found Slaughtered, Owner Wants Answers.

Posted: Updated:
Garrard County Animal Control is investigating the gruesome mutilating of three puppies.  They were found on highway 753 in Bryantsville.

The owner of the puppies, Christy Zahn, is devastated after a neighbor knocked on her door early Thursday morning, describing the horror she had found.

"I puked," said Zahn. "I could not fathom anybody we know that would do something like this.”

Zahn thought that they'd been killed by a hit and run accident until animal control showed up and told her differently.  “It was horrible because there were dogs spread from one end to the other they had been gutted and their throats slit," said Garrard County Animal Control Officer Kindell Gerald.

Zahn's husband saw the puppies around 5:45 that morning and shortly after, a community Facebook page told the family that they'd seen something in the road.

At just eight weeks old, the family hadn't even had a chance to name them. “We weren't planning on keeping them so we were going to let whoever decided to own them name them,” Zahn said.  At this point, she wants to know who could do such a horrible thing.
