Malnourished Dogs Found In Abandoned Home

 State police in Morgan County are investigating a case involving severely malnourished dogs.

Troopers say on Saturday, they received a complaint about an abandoned home on Old Elam Road. Even though the home was empty, there were several malnourished dogs inside.

The dogs are currently being evaluated at the Morgan County Animal Shelter.

The case is under investigation.

    METCALFE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) A man died in a single-vehicle crash on the Cumberland Parkway Monday.  The crash happened around 12:55 p.m. near the 35 mile marker.  KSP said that 48-year-old Paul Edward Smith of Hot Springs Nagarland, AR was driving a 2011 Freightliner, travelling east on the parkway. For an unknown reason, he travelled through the median and across the westbound lanes where he hit a guardrail and rock embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
