Puppies Found In Bag Being Nursed By Senior Rescue Dog

Posted: Updated:

A litter of puppies  found in a tied up plastic bag are fighting for their lives and now their rescuers are asking for the public's help.

A teenager in Clay County found the puppies while he was fishing. He heard whining and while investigating, found the dogs.  They were tied up in a plastic bag, caught on barbed wired. Inside he found a rock and one puppies who had already drowned.

Now, the Bluegrass Senior Dog Rescue in Georgetown has the puppies nursing back to health with a dog named Jade who just had 8 puppies of her own.

"I took them all and fed them to make sure that they were good and strong and could suckle and latch, and just kind of incorporated them in with hers, and she started to clean them and care for them," says Hildi Korse, who runs the rescue.

Six dogs were in the bag, one drowned and two others were too weak to make it through the day. The three left have a chance. It leaves dog lovers like Korse with a lot of questions.

"Just wondering, what kind of a human being could do that? What were they thinking? Do they think these puppies don't feel? They feel pain, they feel hunger," says Korse.

The mom needs vaccinations and the puppies will as well. If  you would like help sponsor Jade, the puppies and Bluegrass Senior Dog Rescue you can do so by clicking here.
