FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A new analysis of election results by The Associated Press indicates Republicans could have benefited slightly form the way state House districts were drawn during the 2016 election. The analysis measuring the "efficiency gap" shows Kentucky Republicans won about three more seats than they should have given their share of statewide votes. A similar analysis in 2014 showed Democrats had a slight advantage in the same districts.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police say an off-duty Kentucky corrections officer is in stable condition after he was shot during an attempted break-in at his home. Police said on Facebook that the Louisville Metro Corrections officer was shot Saturday at his Clarksville, Indiana home. Police are working to determine if a man they apprehended in the case is the correct suspect.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Police are investigating a theft where two men stole from concession stands at a Kentucky minor league baseball stadium. According to the Herald-Leader, a Lexington Police news release says that overnight Thursday, two men climbed the back fence at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, went into two concession stands and took cash drawers and drinks. The cash drawers were empty but are worth several hundred dollars. Whitaker Bank Ballpark is home to the Lexington Legends.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Most Louisville creeks and streams have long been in terrible condition. Some were buried and built over. Others were converted to drainage ditches. Portions of Beargrass Creek flow through concrete channels. But not Floyds Fork. It could be called Louisville's least damaged stream, even with its documented problems of bacteria that could give a kayaker an infection or pollutants that fuel the growth of green slimy mats of oxygen-depleting algae.
