CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Residents in some snow-bombarded areas of West Virginia are being told to stay off the roads to allow crews to treat them. The storm is expected to bring up to a foot of snow in some areas before moving out. The snowfall is being welcomed at some of West Virginia's ski resorts after a warm February.
FLOYDS KNOBS, Ind. (AP) - A spring snowstorm has blanketed parts of southern Indiana with more than eight inches of snow and snarled the morning commute. Snow bands that are part of a spring nor'easter targeting the Northeast continued dropping snow Wednesday morning over central, eastern and southeastern Indiana and part of northeastern Indiana. The National Weather Service says the heaviest accumulation was 8.3 inches in the southern Indiana city of Salem.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky officials say local water district commissioners are now required to get their initial training through the state's Public Service Commission. The state agency issued an order this month with the requirement, stating that multiple water districts have recently violated basic laws governing finances and operations.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is studying the impact of looser regulations on bass size limits during some fishing tournaments. The test would allow anglers to keep fish above 12 inches for small and largemouth bass. The three-year test is limited to four tournaments on Lake Cumberland and Cave Run Lake. The study will help biologists determine if the changes would affect the overall fishery in the lake.
