LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A group of college students is currently cycling coast to coast raising money and awareness for Alzheimer's.

Bike4Alz is made up of 14 students from Western Kentucky University. The team started its ride in Seattle, Wash. on May 22 and made a stop at Waterfront Park on Saturday. It will end its 3,600-mile journey in Virginia Beach on July 23.

Team members say they ride for memories, and hope that a cure will be found one day.

"It started in 2010 with our fraternity brother and his grandfather passed away from Alzheimer's and he wanted to do something about it so he created this group called Bike4Alz and every other summer we do it," said Daniel Aroh of Louisville.

The team's goal is to raise $100,000 for Alzheimer's.
