Man Shot By State Trooper Has Died

Posted: Updated:

RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) -- LEX 18 has learned the victim of last week's officer-involved shooting in Madison County has died.

Troopers say 51-year old Kenny Huntzinger was shot last Tuesday night outside a home on General Nelson drive in Richmond.

Police were originally called to a house in Richmond because of a reported domestic disturbance.

When KSP arrived, they say Huntzinger was ramming his truck into an SUV parked in the driveway.

When Sergeant Toby Coyle arrived, officials say Huntzinger tried to run him over, and the trooper opened fire.
