Man Arrested After Shooting Another Man During Argument

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) -- One man was arrested and another taken to the hospital following an argument that ended with a gunshot.

According to the Manchester Police Department's Facebook page,  police found several people outside an apartment on White Street yelling and cursing around 2:20 Thursday morning,

They also found a 42-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to his leg. That man was eventually flown to the UK Medical Center.

Police determined that Millard Wagers, 54, of Manchester, had shot the victim following an argument inside the apartment.

Wagers was arrested. He is charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and tampering with physical evidence.

He is in the Clay County Detention Center.

The investigation continues and more arrests are pending.
