Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) -- One family had a scare when a basket of laundry caught fire.

Firefighters were called to the home on Wittland Lane around midnight Friday.

They said the family had just gotten home from the laundromat when their clothes, still hot from the dryer, caught fire.

Fortunately, the family was able to put out the fire by the time firefighters arrived.

There was some damage to the room, but the family did not have to be displaced.
