Tom Brady, 6 Others Will Skip Patriots' White House Visit

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NY Times) - The Patriots are visiting the White House on Wednesday in honor of their Super Bowl victory. Seven members of the team have said they will not attend.

Brady cited a family issue for not attending. He also had skipped his team’s visit with former President Barack Obama at the White House, in 2015, citing family issues.

Others cited political reasons.  LeGarrette Blount told a radio host that he didn't feel welcome in the White House. Others echoed this sentiment.

The visit also follows the death of former teammate Aaron Hernandez in prison.
