Kentucky Artist Touches Family With Painting Of Murdered Loved One

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3) -- An airbrush artist from Louisville has touched the family of a Cleveland man brutally murdered on Facebook live.

Tramond Spencer sat down with WAVE 3 News to talk about his inspiration for the painting of Robert Goodwin. Goodwin was allegedly murdered on Facebook by Steve Stephens. Stephens shot himself after a police pursuit in Erie, Pennsylvania.

"On my news feed I kept seeing pictures of the offender," Spencer said. "I don't really like to say his name and it was just so...it was just one after another after another."

Spencer decided to direct attention back to the man that the victim was.

"I don't know what it is," Spencer said. "The expression on his face in this picture, I mean you see a lot of things. You see how kind he is and you see that he's not an evil person."

The artwork caught the attention of Goodwin's family after he put the airbrush painting online.

"When I first saw that painting the first thing that came to my mind was that it really captured my dad's spirit," Goodwin's daughter wrote in a post on her Facebook page. "It just really rings so true of the humble and gentle man that he was."

Spencer would not accept money for the artwork.
