Flash Flooding Shuts Down Roads, Causes Damage In Southeastern Kentucky

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) In Harlan County heavy rainfall caused problems across the area as flash flooding shut down roads.

A woman in the Catrons Creek area shared these images with us.

Harlan County Emergency Management officials say that wasn't the only area that experienced flooding.

Highway 987 at Smith Rd. was shut down for a few hours.

Another road, Highway 421 in Cranks, also was shut down for a bit as water covered it.

Officials say one house and three cars were damaged.
