LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)-- A man was stabbed during a domestic dispute and is now facing charges.

Police were called to an apartment on Lima Drive around 11:15 Sunday night.

They say a man and woman were in an argument when the man hit the woman in the face multiple times.

The woman got a knife and stabbed the man in the back.

He was taken to UK Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating, but they say it appears the stabbing was self-defense.

The man will be charged with assault when he is released.
