Catharine Gardner Catharine Gardner

Catharine Gardner joined the LEX 18 News team in June 2017 as a general assignment reporter. She was born and raised in the Lexington area, and she's thrilled to be back at home to cover stories that are happening in her home city!

Shortly after graduating from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism back in the spring of 2016, Catharine started her professional journalism career at an ABC affiliate station in Bowling Green, Kentucky, WBKO. During her ten months of reporting at her first station, Catharine covered a broad range of news stories, from local heroes to localizing national news. Before she left the Bowling Green area, she walked away with a few broadcast journalism awards from the Associated Press.

Although she's mostly excited to be back at home with her family and friends, she's also looking forward to attending UK basketball and football games again. When Catharine isn't working, you can likely catch her playing 18 holes or on the range, enjoying the downtown Lexington scene, or watching the big game at home. Did she mention that she's also a big WKU Hilltopper fan?

Catharine would love to hear from you! If you have any story ideas for her, feel free to send her an email at cgardner@wlex.tv
