Volunteer Firefighter Killed In Breathitt County Crash

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) -- A volunteer firefighter was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Breathitt County early Friday morning.

According to a post from the Watts-Caney Fire Department Facebook, Katie Campbell Combs was killed.

"This morning around 3 AM we lost one of our own. Katie Campbell Combs, Unit 518 was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Hwy 15 just South of Jackson. Katie is the wife of Chris Combs and the daughter of Kenneth and Barbra Goff, all are part of the Watts-Caney Fire Department Family. We are all devastated by the loss of one of our sisters. Our thoughts and Prayers go out to the Combs and Goff families," reads the post.

The crash shut down Highway 15 for several hours.
