Downed Trees, Power Lines, Block Roads After Storms In Central KY

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Highway officials are reporting several roads could be blocked for hours by downed trees and power lines after storms hit central Kentucky Sunday.

Highway officials report multiple trees and power lines are down on US 25 from .402mm to 21.674mm in Fayette County. They expect the road to be blocked for three to four hours.

A longtime closure expected in Frankfort with reports of multiple power lines and poles down. This is located on Wapping Street from Wilkinson Street to Washington Street. All lanes there are blocked and clean up is expected to last seven hours.

All four lanes on US 60 at Steel Rd in Versailles are reportedly blocked by down power lines and vehicle entangled in downed lines. The power company, fire department and police are all scene. Officials expect that to clear up by 8:00p.m.
