Catholic B.U.I.L.D Assists In Launch Of Habitat Home

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)-- Habitat for Humanity gathered Friday morning to launch the construction on the 2017 Catholic B.U.I.L.D home.

After a site blessing, the family, along with Catholic church volunteers, raised the first wall of the home.

This year, the event is benefiting a family that has lived in Lexington since 2012 and looks forward to becoming Lexington Habitat homeowners later this year.

"Cause we get to have our own house that we actually built and put our hands on it and get to meet people who helped around the house and built the house and actually get to know them and have a great experience," said Lilliane Muhimpundu, who works for New Habitat Home.

This is the 27th family served through the Catholic B.U.I.L.D, which brings together the local Catholic churches to support a family in need of affordable housing.
