You don't have to wait until the 21st to see an astronomical event. The Perseid meteor shower peaks tonight.
Spotty showers end this evening around southeastern Kentucky. Tracking clearing skies area-wide tonight. Clouds should cooperate for peak viewing time of the meteor shower around midnight. (Don't forget to look away from the moon to get a better view.) Temperatures will be comfortable, falling overnight to the low to mid 60s.
The best is yet to come! Sunday will be a perfect August day with more sunshine than clouds, lower humidity, and highs in the low 80s. Enjoy it before true August conditions return next week.
