Thanks To Public Support, Shelter Will No Longer Have To Euthanize Dogs

Posted: Updated:

GARRARD COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) The Garrard County Animal Shelter announced on Facebook Wednesday that would be forced to euthanize dogs tomorrow if they don't get them moved into other shelters or adopted.

After being put over capacity due to a hoarding situation, they asked people to step up and adopt or foster dogs.

There is still a need to adopt, but the animals are no longer in danger.

You can also call the shelter during normal business hours (8:30-5). They do adoptions from 8:30-2:30 on weekdays and 8:30am-12:30 on Saturdays. That number is (859) 792-1562 and they are located at 210 Doty Hts Lancaster, Kentucky, KY 40444. You can also donate to sponsor a pet through PayPal: garrardjudge@windstream.net

The group Bluegrass Solders and Strays Inc is also accepting donations on behalf of the shelter on PayPal if you look up their name.

That money will go towards the dogs brought in from the hoarding situation for need vet care and spay/neuter.
