LEXINGTON, KY (LEX 18) One Lexington woman is making a big difference for many of Hurricane Harvey's victims.
Sandy Smallwood said she has no ties to south Texas at all, but she hurts for the people there. She decided she was going to try and help as many of the hurricane victims as she possibly could.
Smallwood has been working double shifts at Malone's in Hamburg this week so she will be able to afford even more of the diapers, baby formula, and other supplies that the people of South Texas may need.
"I just love people. and when people are in pain. I'm in pain," said Smallwood.
The BGH Restaurant Group was so impressed by what Smallwood was doing that they will now be matching whatever amount she is able to generate towards Harvey relief efforts.
"I was called to do something, and that's the answer that I got," Smallwood told LEX 18.
