HARRISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)-- While police searched for the suspect in a shooting Monday, schools in the county were put on lockdown for hours.

And Tuesday, all schools are cancelled as the shooter remains at large.

It wasn't until after 5 p.m. Monday that the district allowed Northside, Southside and Eastside school buses to take kids home.

Westside schools were held the latest -- and eventually let parents pick their kids up.

Although it was inconvenient -- parents say they are happy with how the schools handled the situation

"I really want my kid," said James Levi, a Westside Elementary School parent. "It would make me feel better if I knew she was safe. I trust them, but it would feel better if I got to see her and let her know she's okay."

Again, all Harrison County Schools are closed Tuesday due to safety concerns.
